Aviation — Senior Person Approval
A short half-day course to help you prepare for CAA senior person approval — what a senior person is, how to become one, and how to navigate the CAA application and interview process.
The CAA Senior Persons course helps you prepare for CAA approval as a senior person within your aviation organisation. It explains what a senior person is, how the CAA approval process works, and how to prepare for and navigate the senior person interview.
Participants gain a working understanding of the legal basis for senior person roles, the fit and proper person criteria, and what the CAA expects of those who hold control over the exercise of privileges on an operating certificate.
The course provides a grounding in the aviation rules but does not replace the detailed knowledge you will need of those rules and of your own organisation. Content is practical and includes a participant activity workbook to help you prepare your application and interview.
This course runs by arrangement. Contact us to schedule a session for you or your organisation, or to register your interest in an upcoming date.

We are a recognised training provider by the NZ CAA and have achieved the highest (Category 1) rating by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. Our tutors are renowned for their ability to deliver clear and practical training to operators at the coalface of the aviation sector in New Zealand and across the South Pacific.
Our courses focus on delivering the skills you need without an excess of theory or irrelevant content. We tailor our delivery on the assumption that you will immediately apply what you learn — in this case, to your own senior person application and role.
We allow plenty of time for questions and for the tutor to explain issues relevant to you and your organisation. You will have the input of other students and the benefit of their recent experiences. The activity workbook leaves you with practical material you can apply directly to your application and interview.
