Anybody working onboard a commercial vessel operating marine radios in New Zealand, regardless of vessel size or operating limits. It is illegal to operate a marine VHF or MF/HF radio without an appropriate operator's certificate, except in genuine distress, urgency or safety situations.

Regulatory context: Maritime Rules Part 43 (Radio) and the Radiocommunications Act 1989.

We train the South Island’s large commercial fleet operators — including tourism, aquaculture and fishing companies — and their crews.
