We develop, amend and help register Risk Management Programmes for New Zealand processors of animal products — built on HACCP and the Animal Products Act 1999.
We develop, amend and help register Risk Management Programmes for processors of animal products in New Zealand.
A Risk Management Programme (RMP) applies HACCP principles to identify and control the hazards and other risk factors in producing and processing animal materials and products — so your end product is fit for its intended purpose. Our consultants pair sound HACCP knowledge with the regulatory experience to build a programme that works on your floor and satisfies MPI.
Under the Animal Products Act 1999:
Whether it is a green-field site, a custom RMP, or a change to your existing operations, we are efficient and adaptable in getting your programme to registration. We:
An RMP sits under the Animal Products Act 1999 and applies to processors of animal products, particularly where product is sold wholesale or exported. A Food Control Plan sits under the Food Act 2014 and is generally used by retail food businesses. Both must be documented and kept current — we can guide you through your requirements and keep your systems and documentation up to date as your operation changes.
Who needs a Risk Management Programme (RMP)?
Primary processors of animal products in New Zealand, for human or animal consumption, require an RMP. Secondary processors — including transport and storage facilities used to export product — also require an RMP, under the Animal Products Act 1999.
Can you amend our existing RMP?
Yes. We amend existing programmes when your equipment, ingredients or processes change, and update the related systems, procedures and documentation so your RMP stays current and registered.
Do you help with RMP registration?
Yes. We support you through to RMP registration with MPI, and can carry out audits and help close out any non-conformances.
