01 / OverviewSMS for Managers

The SMS for Managers course is designed to provide a thorough grounding in aviation SMS. With a focus on identifying methods that work for small to medium-sized operators, it delivers a comprehensive understanding of the principles of what an SMS is intended to deliver.

All the elements of an SMS are discussed in a functional context. On completion, students will be able to implement and operate their own SMS, with the skills and confidence to identify areas requiring improvement.

There are plenty of examples from agricultural, tourism, airport and adventure aviation sectors, and the course continues to be revised with exercises to further support operators with an existing SMS in place. An extended risk management module makes sure you can operate this critical area of SMS confidently.

Past students have enjoyed the practical realism of the course content, the sharing of information with other students, and the focus on addressing their own questions in class. The workbook contains exercises and samples that focus on your own SMS implementation.
